Most of our Carpenters joined us as an apprentice and then worked through the business, Arron, Asa and Henry all joined Elivate after leaving school or college and have worked their way up in the business, we recently took on a new apprentice at the end of the summer of 2023, Tyler, he is currently studying for an apprenticeship in Carpentry and does one day a week at Reading College.
As part of our enrichment program, all our site operators are offered training, which helps to improve their earning potential, improves their skills on our sites and helps us build a sustainable building business in a backdrop of a lack of workers in the construction sector.
Some of the recent training we have invested in are IPAF qualifications, enabling the team to safely use cherry pickers and scissor lifts, one of our experienced plasters we encouraged to complete the NVQ to enhance their qualifications and we recently invested in a week’s course with Surface Repair Courses Ltd to enable us to be able to provide hard surface repairs for our clients.
