Dan and Natalie moved into their home a year ago and started some of the smaller jobs themselves, like the living and dining room area, decoration and a redesign, but when it came to the shower room, they decided it was time to call in the professionals.
The property was their first buy as they had rented in the area up to that point. Natalie spoke about wanting to stamp their style onto their new home but also keeping many of the original features, so it was a careful balance of new and old.
Although they knew of Elivate they decided to look at other builders/plumbers as part of the process. Having conducted a Level 3 survey when they bought the home, they originally felt assured that there were no major issues. When Ian, one of Elivates’ plumbers, came to visit the property to help provide an accurate price for the job, he found duct tape wrapped around a leaking boiler flue. Natalie said, they were both so impressed that he got it fixed the next day, not leaving them worried there could have been an issue. They both felt the plumber had gone above and beyond, which helped them to make up their mind to award Elivate the job.
It was clearly a much smaller job than the team tends to manage, but Natalie always felt like her job was the most important, and nothing was too much trouble. Natalie said “this was very reassuring when you are on your first building project.”
One of the comments that Natalie gave in her feedback was how helpful everyone was about explaining everything that was going on; they were both on a steep learning curve, and the site manager, Barrie, always made time for them, explaining each step of the way and what was being done in the shower room and how that impacted them each day. (They have another bathroom in the house, so it wasn’t as stressful as it might have been).
There were lots of little features Elivate included, like a little seat in the shower, repurposing the original wooden shelves and getting a bespoke glass panel for the shower screen.
Natalie now feels well equipped to carry out a larger project and would now always use Elivate and would highly recommend the team to others looking to carry out building works in their home.
