Transforming spaces, a stunning home remodelling building project in Amersham.
As part of the completion of all our projects, we make contact with the clients and conduct a feedback meeting. This is a chance to understand, at the end of the project, how the experience felt for the customers and their families and what, if any, advice they would give us moving forward.

We had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours on a warm June evening with this lovely family, looking back over the last year and unravelling how they came to work with Elivate and whether they would choose to work with us again.
This is a family of five, with two very busy parents, but working in the NHS and Dad travels into Bracknell most days. They have 3 young children, one who heads into secondary school this year and two still in primary. The house needed to become more functional, the rear of these properties has a deep drop in their gardens, and their conservatory extension access was via uneven stairs, and their kitchen area was crammed and dysfunctional.

They moved into the property 10 years ago, recognising the potential, but at that point with a toddler and a baby on the way, any major renovation felt impossible. The initial project was to recreate a basement area, utilising the drop at the back of the house, but the costings were way over their budget, so at the end of 2024, a new project was getting priced and the homeowners reached out to the Federation of Master Builders to help in their search.
Mark, the MD at Elivate went over and met with the couple, put in a quotation and work began in March 2025. There was a minor delay in the start dates but that worked out well as the home owner had broken their foot and was in the very early stage of recovery when the project started.
Can you imagine embarking on an internal remodelling of your kitchen, eating space, downstairs shower, and utility and having to hop everywhere and still wash up in the bath upstairs, feeding three children and remaining positive, well that’s exactly what she did. The only time the family moved out was during the upgrade of the boiler and storage tank, which meant no hot water for about a week and that just felt unbearable.
The project stayed on plan and the team handed back the project on the 25th April. The decoration was carried out by their own team and they were still finishing off when we were there.
Elivate collaborated with a number of new suppliers, who were organised by the homeowners. Ayelbury Bathroom and Tile Centre supplied all of the suite in the shower room, and this was installed by the Elivate team, and the flooring was supplied and laid by another hyper-local company, Trade Carpet Company, Amersham.
There was a genuine affection that developed during the project, with the children writing messages on the walls for the team when they had only been on site a couple of weeks “you are the best builders in the world, love Charlotte aged 9” Heart Melted that day!.
All the family raved about the experience of working with Elivate, naming everyone on the project individually, including our electricians and plumbers, they all appreciated having Barrie, the site manager, there every day, as there was always someone available for the inevitable changes or issues that arose.
