It’s not always possible and sometimes our clients choose to buy their kitchens and bathrooms themselves, or we have a good relationship with a branch manager or account manager who may live locally from a national brand, but as much as we can we try to keep the money circulating in our local economy of Reading and Wokingham, and if we can, back to another independent business like ours.
We are fortunate to have an excellent roofing supplier in the heart of our area, Andersons Roofing Suppliers Ltd and we have been working with them for over 10 years.
Last week we caught up with Junior Arquimbau, who has recently been promoted to a Director at Anderson Roofing.
Junior joined the business over 14 years ago and like many of the team at Andersons he has worked his way from his first job on the counter, eventually being made Branch Manager for their newest branch in Camberley which he launched in 2020. Both Junior and Nathan Smith the branch manager at Wokingham, know Mark Fowles our MD and have provided Elivate with Roofing materials for many years.
Andersons like Elivate, is a family-run business and Steve Smith the owner, along with Gavin Smith (No relation) pride themselves on their roots in the roofing industry with Steve explaining he began his career as a roofer over 30 years ago.
It was wonderful to hear the progression in the business with Junior now accepting a Directorship and overseeing both branches, supported by Nathan Smith in Wokingham as a Branch Manager and Jaik Tocock accepting the Branch manager position in Camberley.
We asked how they are able to compete with some of the national roofing brands in the area, Junior explained they are part of a buyer network called NNBS, where they have access to other strong independent roofing merchants, so if there is a particular tile or roofing product they don’t have in stock, they can go out to this national network and this means there customers are rarely, if ever, let down.
Anderson Roofing provides roofing materials to roofing contractors, builders and domestic customers. they have a delivery team with 4 lorries and a sprinter, meaning they can support all sizes of projects in the area.
